Where to start with this question!! We have always loved to travel and have been to some amazing places with memories we will never forget. To choose one is so hard and we have taken bits from different places.
First up, unsurprisingly, is Walt Disney World in Orlando. I went to Orlando quite a lot as a child but Dan's first visit was with me when we were dating. I'll never forget booking it in a travel agents we stayed at International Palms on International Drive and had an amazing time together (except for when we went to Pizza Hut and saw the biggest cocroach ever!! Oh and when in the middle of the night someone tried to get into our room haha).
Our second trip to WDW was for our Disneymoon and WOW what a trip! We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and had a Savannah View room I screamed when we went into the room and could see giraffes from our window. We had asked for dollars for our wedding gift which allowed us to do some amazing things like the Wild Africa Trek, swimming with dolphins, Seaventure at Discovery Cove, the list went on and on!
Next up was a trip to stay at the Yacht Club Resort, we ended up staying here twice on two separate occasions. The only resort we went back to mainly for the pool!!! We also had a dream come true vacation at the Grand Floridian Resort for 2 weeks. We got a great deal at the time where we got a certain amount of nights free. Those were the days!
This resort was my happy place I absolutely loved everything about it. We also had a trip at the Polynesian Village Resort which again was incredible, we had so much fun and loved the food options here.
So yes lots of trips to Orlando making it one of our Happy Places for sure, how can it not be?!?! Everything about Walt Disney World is focused on being the 'Happiest Place on Earth' and we definitely get that feeling when we go there every single time. We have also visited with family and best friends which has made the trips even more special and memorable. Having your favourite people with you at your favourite place doesn't get much better.
Recently we have had 2 trips cancelled and hoping our third will go ahead because we want to take our son Noah for the first time as we can't wait to see it through his eyes.
Another Happy Place of ours is Canada, in particular Moraine Lake and Banff. We would go back in a heartbeat. Getting up at 4am to see the sunrise over Moraine Lake (although we were cold and a little scared we would run into a bear) it was honestly a 'pinch me' moment. We couldn't believe natural beauty like this exists and this will always be a special place to us.
But...when you really think about your Happy Place, you think of the people that make that place happy and for me it is my husband Dan and my 2 year old Noah. So hand on heart my happy place is wherever they are as I am truly at my happiest when I am with them both in our little family of 3. Most of the time, due to the current situation, the place we are is just at home but that is fine, we love our home and we are creating happy memories every day together. We have filled our home with prints of places we have visited and that brings back those memories. I guess the day we go to Walt Disney World as a family of 3 will be the ultimate Happy Place and I can't wait!!!
