Happily Ever After: What Those Three Little Words Mean to Me ✨

Print of the Week: Happily Ever After
Our Happily Ever After print is our Print of the Week, but for me, it represents so much more than a beautiful Disney image.
It's a little reminder of growing up, falling in love, building a family and realising that sometimes, the happy ending we've been dreaming of is already happening.

Growing Up Believing in Happily Ever After
I grew up in the 90s watching every Disney film I could get my hands on. I loved the stories, the magic and, of course, the endings.
The princess would find her prince, the music would swell, and those three little words — happily ever after — would promise that everything was going to be wonderful from that moment on.
The perfect ending.
But growing up teaches you that happily ever after is quite a big ask in real life! It isn't always a grand finale, a magical castle or a moment when everything suddenly falls into place.
And actually, it looks different to everyone.
Our Own Happily Ever After ❤️
When we created our Happily Ever After print, we chose an image inspired by the fireworks at Walt Disney World.
There's something about Disney fireworks that makes the world feel like it stands still for a moment.

But thinking about those three words made me realise just how much their meaning has changed for me over the years.
When we first visited Disney together, we were married and excited about our future. We had found each other, and we wanted to live happily ever after.
Then came our first home.
Suddenly, happily ever after meant having somewhere of our own, somewhere we could build a life together.
And then we dreamed of starting a family.
One baby, then another, and all the hopes and dreams that came with becoming parents.
Every chapter brought a new version of happily ever after.
And every time, we thought the next milestone would be the one that made everything feel complete.
Realising We're Already Living It ✨
During our most recent Disney trip, I found myself looking around at my husband and our two children and thinking something quite lovely.
I'm standing right here in my own happily ever after.
Not because life is perfect.
Not because every day is easy.
And definitely not because we've suddenly got everything figured out!
But because the people I love most are right there beside me, and we're making memories together.
I feel content.
Of course, I still have dreams, places I want to visit and things I'd love us to experience.
But more than anything, I find myself wishing for health and happiness for my family.
And I've realised that I don't need to keep waiting for the next big thing to be happy.
Sometimes we're so busy looking forward to the next chapter that we forget to appreciate the one we're actually living.
The Magic in the Ordinary Days
Of course, happily ever after doesn't mean every day feels like a Disney film!
There's work, school runs, endless washing, busy schedules and all the usual family chaos.
And sometimes, when you're in the middle of it all, it's easy to wish life would slow down.
But then I look at our children growing up, and I realise that one day I'll probably wish I could have just one more day of them being this little.
One more bedtime cuddle.
One more silly conversation.
One more ordinary day that doesn't feel particularly special at the time.
Because those are the moments that really make up our happily ever after.
And perhaps that's the biggest thing I've learned.
Happily ever after isn't about having a perfect life. It's about appreciating the life you've built.
In fact, those three little words mean so much to me now that I even had them tattooed this year!
A little nod to my love of Disney, but also a permanent reminder that I've found my own happily ever after.

A Little Reminder to Enjoy This Chapter
With another big birthday coming up next year, I've found myself reflecting a little more on life and what happiness really means to me.
When I was younger, I thought happily ever after was something you eventually arrived at.
Now I realise it's not really a destination at all.
It's the family holidays, the laughter, the little traditions and the everyday moments that you wish you could bottle up forever.
And that's why our Happily Ever After print means so much to me.
Yes, it captures the magic of Disney fireworks.
But for me, it also represents everything those fireworks remind me of.
The dreams we've had.
The memories we've made.
And the people we've shared them with.
Our story is far from finished. There will be more adventures, more dreams and plenty of new chapters.
But right now, I feel incredibly lucky to be exactly where I am.
Because sometimes, the happiest ending is realising you're already living the story you once dreamed of. ❤️
