š Print of the Week: The āBerā Months

Thereās something about this time of year that always makes me want to slow down a little.
For this weekās Print of the Week, I wanted to share one of our prints, but also the story behind it ā and how Iād style it in my own home.
The āBerā months
September, October, November and December.
The āBerā months.
Iāve always felt that September signals a change more than January does. January might traditionally be the month of new beginnings, but September feels like the real start of something to me.
A new school year begins, routines change and suddenly everyday life has a different rhythm.
My husband would probably tell you he prefers August! š
But for me, September brings that feeling of wanting to reset, reflect and make our home feel cosy again.
The summer is coming to an end, the evenings gradually get darker and I start thinking about autumn.
And I absolutely love it.
š Print of the Week: The 'Ber' Months
This week's print is one that really sums up this time of year for me.
The 'Ber' Months.
September, October, November and December ā four months that somehow feel completely different from the rest of the year.
The warm colours, the changing leaves, the cosy evenings and that anticipation that builds as we move towards Christmas.
And yes⦠I know some people aren't ready to talk about Christmas yet!
I'm definitely not putting the tree up in September. š
But I do think there's something lovely about embracing each little stage of the season.

How Iād style it at home
One of the things I love about seasonal decorating is that you don't need to completely transform your home.
For me, it's about little details.
The print already brings in beautiful autumnal shades of burnt orange, deep red and warm neutrals, so Iād pick up those colours elsewhere in the room rather than adding lots of obvious seasonal decorations.
Think:
š Warm, earthy colours
š Natural wood
š Soft textures
š Dried or faux foliage
š Candles and diffusers
š Warm lighting
š A few carefully chosen autumn accessories

I love this photo because it shows the print in a real home rather than a perfectly styled studio.
That's really what Happy Place Print is about.
Artwork that becomes part of your home and the memories you make there.
It's all about the colour
You don't necessarily need lots of pumpkins and orange decorations to make a room feel autumnal.
Sometimes it's simply about introducing the right colours and textures.
For example, I love how a simple orange towelĀ can bring a little warmth into a bathroom.

Even something as simple as a textured towel can pick up the colours in the print and make the whole space feel more connected.
And then there's the little detailsā¦

A warm-toned diffuser, candle or room fragrance can instantly make a space feel more seasonal.
It's those little touches that make me want to curl up with a blanket, put the kettle on and enjoy being at home.
Don't forget the bathroom!
I think bathrooms are often forgotten when it comes to seasonal decorating.
But they can actually be one of the easiest places to introduce colour.

A warm orange or amber accessory against neutral tiles gives that lovely autumn feel without being over the top.
And because these are small accessories, they can easily be swapped when the season changes.
And then there's Octoberā¦
Thereās another reason I have a soft spot for this time of year.
I was born in October.
So perhaps I'm slightly biased!
But I really do think October is one of the loveliest months.
It's right in that sweet spot between summer being over and Christmas starting to creep into our thoughts.
The leaves are changing.
The evenings are getting darker.
The air feels a little crisper.
And suddenly everything feels a little cosier.
It's the textures as much as the colours that make autumn feel special to me.

Embracing the season you're actually in
I think it's very easy to rush through the year.
We're always looking ahead.
The next holiday.
The next celebration.
Christmas.
New Year.
Summer.
But there's something really nice about stopping and appreciating the season you're actually in.
So this week, I'm embracing September.
The changing season.
The new school year.
The cooler evenings.
The cosy home.
And all those little things that make this time of year feel special.
And perhaps, just perhaps, I'll get my pumpkins out soonā¦
Although my husband might argue that August was the correct time for that!Ā šš
What does September mean to you?
Are you ready for autumn, or are you still hanging on to summer?
I'd love to know. š
